Allergy – Beyond Skin Test and RAST

A Joint Conference by the Allergy Academy and the Allergy Research Foundation

Date:
Wednesday, 2nd November 2011

Venue:
The Royal Society of Medicine, 1 Wimpole Street, London

This is the 18th of a series of meetings organised by the Allergy Research Foundation, each of which has focused on a specific aspect of the association between allergy and disorders of health. Over the years we have seen increased acceptance of this link. This year we have identified an opportunity to expand on the concepts originally presented 18 years ago with an emphasis on a new generation of tests for allergy diagnosis.

“Allergy – Beyond Skin Test and RAST”

 This conference aims to show:

 * The role of allergic reactions in skin disease

* Recognition of specific environmental factors in skin disease

* How to manage the patient who presents with possible drug induced skin disease

* The importance and relevance of photo and contact allergy

* The role of new serological techniques in the diagnosis of allergy

* In which ways allergen component tests can increase our understanding

* How multi-allergen biochip testing (ISAC) is likely to impact on clinical allergy practice

This conference will be of great interest to Allergists and Immunologists, Dermatologists, Physicians, Paediatricians, General Practitioners, Specialist Nurses, and Dietitians who have a particular interest in the links between allergy and disorders of health.
